[trend] BI > BPM > BPM 2.0
This is what's happening in the market.
Major BI vendors such as Hyperion and Cognos are moving toward BPM capability and they are doing it very fast. Those major BI firms are attaining this BPM capability by acquiring other companies rather than developing it internally.
- Hyperion bought Crystal Ball
- Cognos bought Celequest
This is because the market is evolving so fast and these firms do not have enough time to develop those capabilities in-house and stay competitive.
Only a year or two ago BI firms were busy adding BPM capability to their portfolio but today we are already talking about BPM2.0
Two core features of BPM2.0 are "operational analysis" and "predictive analytics". This means more numbers of users, more real-time data processing and more effective decision making.
The market is becoming very interesting.
--> Before BIG dominated the world, but now it's all about SPEED. Be ready for BPM2.0
