Scripting languages and .Net
Up until very recently there has been a gap in the integration of the .Net framework with the old style Windows environment, but with the release of IronPhyton 1.0 (http://www.codeplex.com/Wiki/View.aspx?ProjectName=IronPython) we have gotten quite close to the freedom offered by JScript in regards of doing rapid prototyping and low cost automation of common tasks. For more information see the MSDN article "CLR inside out". (http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/06/10/CLRInsideOut/)

Ever thought of adding a rule-based system that could test up to 20,000 rules per second, automatically verifies the system for 23 verification criteria and can stand alone or be integrated into your application - seamlessly?

Hi Jonas,
I can't seem to find your email from the Spotfire
website, so I thought I'd communicate with you
through your blog.
I'd like to introduce you to RApache, my project that embeds the R interpreter inside the Apache web server. It allows one to generate dynamic graphics and data. I'd like to communicate with you to see if it may be of use for Spotfire's product line. You can read more about it here:
http://biostat.mc.vanderbilt.edu/RApacheProject
and also view a live demonstration here:
http://biostat3.mc.vanderbilt.edu/polyart
it's a ruby on rails applications using RApache as a web service of sorts. The app generates graphics through the process of finding roots of polynomials, very similar to fractals.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey Horner
