expressor tpc-h performance test results

As part of our expressor 2.0 product launch activities, we have recently completed the performance tests for our expressor 2.0 parallel processing engine.

We conducted these tests on a 20,000 dollar, 16-core Dell machine with 8 external SAS drives. The results demonstrate that our ultrafast engine can process several TBs of data/hour without any optimizations.

Watch our presentation and live demo. It is a bit over ten minutes long.

data integration cost reform (part one)

Many of us are enamored by the serious health care debate here in the US, which is aimed at providing coverage for every American while reducing the overall health care costs per capita (which are 6,000 dollars/year higher than in other industrialized nations) in the future.

Without doubt, a similar cost reduction debate is beginning to take shape in our industry. The status quo for vendors charging six or even seven figure dollar license and maintenance fees for data integration software isn't sustainable any longer for many integration projects. Nor is the fact that traditional ETL/DI vendors have failed to provide affordable software that would allow many smaller companies with less than 2 Billion dollars in annual revenues to utilize ETL software for their key data integration initiatives.

What is striking is that a large percentage of all ETL/DI projects are still hand-coded due to the high cost of traditional ETL software. Gartner and other analyst firms estimate that ETL software only has a 30% market penetration today, and they believe that the penetration could be much higher if vendors like Ab Initio, IBM, and Informatica would charge significantly less for their products.

Our core mission at expressor software is to break away from traditional CPU-based software licensing approaches and to make ETL/DI software much more affordable. And to accomplish this without compromising innovation such as our smart semantics technology or providing industry leading data processing performance. We are serious about shaking up and changing the status quo in our industry and stand behind "data integration software cost reform".

We hope you support us in our mission to drive down data integration software and maintenance costs! Contact us at info@expressor-software.com if you have further comments and/or questions!
