Nice review of some business rules products
Interesting review from Simon Bisson over on RegDeveloper- Writing the Rules: The rules engine that's best for your business. Simon had previously written An introduction to rules engines(that I blogged about here). I don't have much to add to the review - it's pretty comprehensive - but I did want to point out that Simon reviews Blaze Advisor 6.1 and Blaze Advisor 6.5 was recently released (see Press Release). 6.5 added:
- Extensive Verification and Validation of rules
- BrUnit for Unit and Regression Testing
- Lifecycle Management
- Filters to manage subsets of the repository
- PMML import to bring predictive models into rules-based systems (described a little more here)
- Improvements to Rete 3
Plus it still has a powerful repository, sophisticated rule management, top of the line performance and true cross-platform support - .NET, Java, COBOL from the same rules in the same syntax in the same repository.
Simon's article is a nice summary of the three main rules platform options. Nice to see.
